McCain and the Enviroment

I have always been a supporter of McCain because of his more moderate approach to things. If you look at McCain's and Obama's views on issue they used to be fairly similar until McCain was chosen as his party candidate. I think what affects me the most would be how his environmental policies have changed. Not only are his views changing but he has now chosen Governor Palin as his running mate. Palin has several policies under her belt in Alaska that are very frowned upon by most environmentalist.
The article I have chosen was publish in the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday September 10th. Michael Finnegan write about how McCain is now "walking a thing line" on his environmental policies. It will be interesting to see how many more of McCain's ideals will be changed based on the pushes of the Republican Party.

McCain seems to me to be losing some of his moderation and slipping more conservative/republican as the time passes.
He was an odd republican, and now seems to be facing a lot of pressure to conform.
I did not know Palin was frowned on by environmentalists. Huh.

I have to dissagree a little bit about your analysis that McCain is slipping more toward the right wing. WIth his new conservative VP pick who all republicans really like, he is now trying to move toward the middle as I see it so that he can try to nab those elusive ind. voters. And enviornmentalist are so radical in their views, that it is hard to take their opinions toward any cantidate too seriously.

I don't know if this is McCain's strategy to please a variety of people or if he truely is conforming to the republicans; however, the way I see a president is a strong leader who can't be moved and firmly stands on his point of view. The way I see it if McCain is willing to do whatever it takes to become president in others words "fake" he loses my vote

I am very interested to learn more about your topic seeing how it is very similar to mine. I think this issue could be talked about for hours upon end and I think we will both discover interesting things while researching this further.
